Open sub menu on hover only works on subpages

Hello,
I noticed my menus sub items do only open on a subpage, but not on the front page. They are set to show on hover.
Can you help please?
(I made some little CSS changes based on some forum tipps. The header is fixed, with navigation floating above. But I guess this should not be the problem here?!)
