I’m really struggling creating a one page website with anchor links from the menu to the sections.

    Using this
    Blog
    About Me
    What I Do
    Contact

    and adding
    https://mywebsite.com/#blog

    What am I doing wrong??

For on page anchor links then you remove the URL so its just the #blog would be required.
The sections would require an ID of e.g blog

But wouldnt I need the url to access the link from another page in the site? For example when coming back from a post?

How do I add the ID David?

OK so the Blog if that is a separate Page then you would use the full URL, just add the menu itme from the list. All other onpage links would just require the # href.

How are you creating the Sections? If it is the GP Sections then on the settings tab of the section there is an ID field.

If its a pagebuilder – eg. Elementor then each Section > Advance settings also provides an ID field.

If its the block editor then again the Settings Sidebar > Advanced will have an ID field on certain blocks, like the heading block.
