Off-Canvas Menu from top with margin?

Hey there,
I'm curious if its possible to change CSS to the off canvas menu that it works like in this example: https://www.gatesfoundation.org/
Is there a best-practise to achieve this behavior?

it is possible to do some changes like that - but are you looking for the 2x different behaviours ie. one for Desktop and one for Mobile, as that is a lot more difficult to achieve and would require custom development.

it would be absolutely fine to only have these changes to desktop behavior and keeping mobile as it is right now, if that is less difficult. Can you give me a hint what places of CSS need to be changed to get closer to this idea for desktop usage?
Its a tricky one.
Do you have a site setup with a Off Canvas Panel and the 3 columns of sub menu items?
If i could see that i can have a play with the CSS required for that layout.
