    Tom,

My site was mobile friendly & everything was fine, but today when I checked, I didn’t pass, & the reasons given were:
    – Content wider than screen
    – Links too close together

I have fully updated – theme, wordpress, plugins, etc.

    Can you help?

    My site is: http://www.aStorybookLife.com

    Thank you so much,

    Pearl

It’s not saying it’s not mobile responsive to me, but it isn’t getting high scores.

I’m assuming it’s one or a combination of plugins you’re using.

Try #1 on this page: https://generatepress.com/knowledgebase/debugging/

    – I deactivated every plugin – still not compliant
    – Went through my ftp & removed any unwanted files – still not
    – Removed everything from my robots file – still not
    – When I check Bing mobile – the site is compatible

    Google mobile still says no

    Where is Google saying no?

They were saying “no” on the whole site using the mobile friendly testing tool.

After a long time of trying to figure this out, I finally did!

I had several posts that had “featured images” on them – using the featured image option on the right hand side when creating a post. I went through my entire site & removed the featured images, & now the site passes the mobile friendly test with google.

Perhaps there was a setting in a recent update that needed to be changed to allow for featured images – while keeping mobile friendly?

Thank you so much for trying to help!

Featured images shouldn’t make your site no mobile friendly – I think the tool might be mistaken.

What version of WordPress are you using?

What tool are you using to check if it’s mobile friendly?
