Nothing saving in the category description

Hello,
I am trying to add a description including a shortcode for a podcast player. Nothing is saving in the description box. I've tried just words, just the shortcode and both.
When I hit save the page comes up empty in the description area on the back end and front end.

Hi Jan,
Even if you add some plain text? For example: Testing category description
If so, can you try deactivating your other plugins to rule out a plugin conflict?
