I am testing GP Premium 1.8.1 on my site: https://searchfacts.com/
However, when I go to Layout -> Header, I am not seeing the checkbox to “Use navigation as header” as described here: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/navigation-as-a-header/
I do already have an image set as a logo in Site Identity, but the checkbox is still not showing.GeneratePress 2.2.2GP Premium 1.8.1April 26, 2019 at 12:53 am #880027Kristjan
I managed to get it working by completely closing the customizer and then going back in.
However, I now have another problem. GP is trying to show an old photo as a site logo, not the one I have chosen under Site Identity.
Is there some kind of cache that I need to clear? I already cleared the page cache on the site.April 26, 2019 at 1:15 am #880052Kristjan
Strangely, GP was trying to show a non-existant image as a retina image, even though I didn’t have a retina image set.
For this reason, I wasn’t seeing the header image on my retina macbook. I tried putting in a retina image that exists and that made the header image display again.April 26, 2019 at 3:57 am #880179DavidStaffCustomer Support
sounds like a possible browser caching issue – the updates were quite significant and Chrome in particular caches really hard.
The other aspect is we added some backwards compatibility, so if a user already had a Navigation Logo set then the option would not appear, as it would effectively lock them out from replacing the logo.
Glad to hear you got it resolved though.August 2, 2019 at 7:22 am #973885Kristjan
I am having the same problem on another site I am working on: IcelandicDown.com
The checkbox for “Use navigation as header” is not showing. See here: https://prnt.sc/oni8iz
I am using the latest version of GP premium (1.8.3).
No matter what I do I can’t get the checkbox to show. Any ideas what I can do to enable it?August 2, 2019 at 7:34 am #973903DavidStaffCustomer Support
Looks like you already have a logo set in Customizer > Layout > Primary Navigation.
When this is the case the option doesn’t display as it could break the users layout. If you were to remove the nav logo then the option would display. Navigation as Header is simply a shortcut for creating what you have there. So i am not sure if / why you would want to change this.
