Niche template > shop URL

For some reason my shop page URL is ........com/shop-2/

I want it to be named /shop/ but when I use the quick edit feature "in pages" and change the slug from shop-2 to shop then reload the page in the main menu, all of the products disappear from the shop page. I had to rename the slug back to page-2 for the product grid to reappear.

How can I have the shop page be ...../shop/ without the products disappearing?

Hi there,

if the slug is updating automatically it means there is another post, page or media attachment that has the shop slug.
Check to see if any post types already exist with that slug
