New page header in 1.4.2 and external featured images

I did some more testing and I can get it work with no problems using the code that Tom provided along with the FIFU plugin.

I created the post in Open Live Writer on my desktop Win PC. I added the image to the post and when published from OLW to the site, there is the image in the Page Header along with the Post Title, Date and Author placed with the tags. I then added additional text after it was published and the image stayed there, as expected.

Roman - how are you adding your images from a URL? What are your FIFU settings? All I set for mine was the one to use first image as featured image.

I don't use Auto Set Featured Image option. I manually set the featured image external URL in the FIFU meta box while editing the post. Also I use External Thumbnails Flickr Integration FIFU settings.

What I want to achieve is to have external image which have been inserted in FIFU post meta box displayed as background image of the page header CP overlaid with some content.

Hope I am clear enough while not being a native English speaker.

Roman - Ah, I understand now :) I have not used that method and I am using only the free version of FIFU. Let me do some more testing :)
