Started using GP Pro — Layout element. I learned these points (I think) are they correct?

Layout Element applies only to pages (for example) created AFTER the layout element is published.

The metabox settings of affected pages DO NOT show the settings of the Layout Element.

So such settings are apparently theme-dependent.

    Hi there,

Elements apply to all pages (if that’s what’s set in your Display Rules) – doesn’t matter when they’re created.

Correct, metabox settings won’t reflect settings set in an Element. The metabox options can be set separately.

Thanks Tom. I see now. If a given page has metabox layout setting other than “default”… For example, one of our pages has a sidebar metabox set to “Content (no sidebars)” and it overrides the Layout element setting of “Sidebar / Content”. I guess that’s an alternative to using page exclusions in your Display Rules.

Correct. It lets you override settings set inside the Layout Element 🙂
