need practical advice - adding a line into the head section of the html document

I would like to add rel="prev" and rel="next" (https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1663744) into the <head> section - of course only, where it makes sense. For example, I have a long article, which I would like to split into two documents. Now I have two documents and I like to tell Google, they are related to the same topic.
How can I achieve this in practice? Would it be possible, to have one or more custom field(s) for this in the backend editor?
Or in general - fields in the editor, to enter more and different meta information if needed?

Hi Mario,
Are we sure WordPress doesn't do this by default? Can you link me to one of those articles?
Hi Tom,
I was not sure, because I am using Elementor and its theme builder (perhaps there are some limitations, I thought). But now, by default, no, I don't think so. I checked the source text of the corresponding support site (https://en.support.wordpress.com/nextpage/2/) for example.
In the meantime I found a few plugins. I picked one out and it does the job well.
Btw - thank you for your fantastic work, Tom!
Best,
Mario
Glad you found a solution :)
