Need Help Creating PDF Page

I uploaded a pdf document to the Media folder and tried to make a page out of it. I was able to create a page that has a link to the pdf document in it but I'd like to be able to link directly to the pdf document from my main navigation menu, rather than have the menu link to a page that has a link to the pdf in it. How do I accomplish this?
Also, the page that I created containing the pdf link does not appear on my list in the Pages tab in the Dashboard, so I don't know how to edit it.

Not sure if I fully understand.
So you want to have a menu item that opens a PDF file uploaded in the media library?
What happens if you use a custom link for the menu item and use the file URL?
