Honestly, I think you guys need to clarify a few things about the mobile header in 1.8, because there are many questions regarding the way to control the display of logos and menus. I believe that would be far more productive for everyone than taking questions one by one.

The mobile header didn’t change in 1.8 – it simply received a new option to show the site title instead of a logo.

Always happy to clarify where possible.

I can’t control a site logo size im mobile header without affecting menu item height since 1.8.

What should I try first?

That’s always been the case actually – the mobile header logo depends is adjusted based on the menu item height on mobile.

There is default 10px padding applied to the mobile header logo, what if we try to reduce it like this?

.site-logo.mobile-header-logo img {
    padding: 3px;
}
