I’m getting this message in WP: GP Premium requires GeneratePress to be your active theme. Install now.

after clicked install now my Child theme is deleted. 😣
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-child-theme/
And my site design has broken.😭😭
I have followed this guide to reinstall child theme but when I upload the .zip file. I'm getting this error:
Installing Theme from uploaded file: generatepress_child.zip
Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

Destination folder already exists. /home/androj6m/public_html/wp-content/themes/generatepress_child/

Theme installation failed.

I'm also getting another an error here Appearance > Themes which is: Broken Themes The following themes are installed but incomplete.

Please help me as soon as possible how do I fix this.

Hi there,

I believe that happens if you modify your child theme name.

Is your previous child theme still listed under Appearance > Themes?

If it's not then I would recommend restoring a backup file from your server.

Usually servers have auto backup so it might be worth checking with your host.

Let me know :)

Hello Leo,
I have never changed the name, and I do not remember when I have modified the name of my child theme.
There is no exist previous child theme under Appearance > Themes.
And why I see this error: Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete.

How do I take restoring a backup from the server? Can you send me a guide to take backup? And after restoring the backup file from server how do I fix this.

Every host has different procedures to restore backup which is why I suggested checking with your host support.

We can take a closer look at the issue after it's been restored successfully :)

What should I restore a full backup or Child theme file? And
after restoration backup, what procedures to fix this.

I don't think you can restore just the child theme file but if you can, that might work.

If not then try a full restore.

Have you checked with your host yet?

Let's take look if the issue still exists after you restore it.

Also I just checked your site and everything seems normal? I can still see the child theme.

I have taken a full backup. Please help now what to do next.

I have also reached there where my child theme have listed in the host Control panel. Please have a look at the attached picture of a listed child theme And now can you tell me please what to do next?

Open that generatepress_child folder and open the style.css file.

Then make sure the header at the top of the file matches the one found in here: http://generatepress.com/api/themes/generatepress_child.zip

The header is everything commented out at the top of the file.

It sounds like the header info is broken in your child theme.

Let me know :)

Yes, header information by mistake deleted when I was keeping my style sheet file here to putting it in Additional CSS.

Tom, after hearing your great sound, I copied the header information from the child theme of my other site and pasted it here now the site is working fine.

I have another question when I open my site in opera mini browser for mobile devices than the site is looking broken.
Please help me on how to how to fix that.

Thank You
