‘Blog’ breadcrumb auto links to unknown Generate Press template page

Hello,

Firstly, apologies if this is not related to Generate Press..

I have recently integrated the Flexy Breadcrumb plugin, which has automatically pulled a link from one of your Generate Press template pages. Looks like the blog page from the 'Search' template. Note that I used the Search template when initially creating the foundation for my site.

The link being pulled is meant to be my blog page >> https://wordpress-634058-2082493.cloudwaysapps.com/blog/

Instead it is pulling this link >> https://gpsites.co/search/blog/?page_id=9

Where is this link being pulled from?

I've created a staging site for testing:

https://wordpress-634058-2082493.cloudwaysapps.com/which-ecommerce-platform-is-best/

Note: if you check the above link, you'll notice the 'Blog' breadcrumb link links to https://gpsites.co/search/blog/?page_id=9 instead of my blog page (https://wordpress-634058-2082493.cloudwaysapps.com/blog/).

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards,
Max

Hi there,

go to Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and hit the Save Changes button. This should rebuild the permalinks, and hopefully resolve that issue.

Hi David,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Flushing permalinks was one of the first things I tried, which unfortunately didn't fix the issue.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Max

Very odd - presumably something is caught in the database. But i don't know why that plugin would generate that path.
What happens with the plugin if you create a new static page and assign that as your Blog Page ?

Hi David,

Thanks again for your response.

I created a new page (/blog-test/ and assigned it to the posts page, which somewhat fixed the issue. The page at least links to the right page but calls out /?page_id=139775 instead of /blog-test/.

Anyway, I've decided to use Yoast and Yoast Breadcrumbs instead, which works perfectly with Generate Press.

Thank you for all your help.

Keep up the great work!

Max

Glad to hear you found a solution.
