Multiple Installs

I'm hoping to add some "example sites" within my website to show potential clients some different styling options. I'm thinking about doing this through subdirectories (ie, a restaurant site example, ecommerce example, etc).
Is this the best way to have multiple ways to display GP themes on same site?
Can I just install the theme in the new subdirectories or does it need to be WP core files also?
I'm somewhat familiar with Multi-sites. Should I go that route?

I'd say multi-sites is the way to go.

Ok, thanks for the quick response. Can I install just a theme in a multi-site or does each one need its own WP core files?

the a multi-site setup only requires the core WP, theme and plugin files to be installed on the parent site, all other sites will inherit that install.
