Kar Yung
I’m trying to have this comment plugin display under the content area of my post instead of full width.
I searched up some old posts that talked about replacing some code in single.php to then put in a hook element, but I’m not able to see where anything related to comments is found in single.php. Did it change?

Hi Kar Yung,
It’s under the content area already.
In this post, you’re using a Grid Block, and the second column as a sidebar.
You can use the default sidebar for that column instead, and that should put the comments in the position you prefer.

Oh right, I completely forgot I was using a Block – Content Template. I was doing it this way because I felt like it lines up the featured image with the top of the sidebar just right.
If I go default sidebar, do you have suggestions for me to be able to approximate that somehow?

You can copy and paste the contents of the right column of the grid to maybe a Block Element – sidebar, if you plan to have this side bar just for this page.
Then instead of a Grid, put everything in the left column within a Container Block instead. That should produce a similar look.

One more question Fernando, if I wanted to delete the comment section or edit it, is that possible via the actual files of the theme? I’m not sure which php files is creating this comment-area.

I want it for every post actually. Does that make a difference?

Here’s an article with regards to removing comments: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/removing-comments/

Actually, Fernando, I added the default WordPress sidebar but I realize that I prefer the custom “sidebar” I made myself using the Post Template Element method because it allows me the flexibility to keep the post title full width.
Ideally, I want to be able to have my post be…
Post Title (Full Width)
Content (Left Side) / Side of Ads (Right Side)
Comments Section (Left Side)Is there a way to achieve all of that editing the php files or using hooks?

StaffCustomer Support1. Post title (full width):
You can use a block element – page hero: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/2. Content (Left Side) / Side of Ads (Right Side):
a) Activate the default WP right sidebar at customizer > layout > sidebars > Single Post Sidebar Layout, choose
content/sidebar
.b) Create a
block element - right sidebar
, this will replace the default WP right sidebar content:https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-sidebar/c) Remove the custom sidebar and title from your post’s
block element - content template
.3. Comments Section (Left Side):
It will be on the left side by default if you finish the previous 2 steps.
