[Resolved] missing follow blog widget

I’m trying to add the WordPress “follow blog widget” but it does not appear in my list of widgets. Is there a preferred way of adding? I see I can add the Mailchimp plugin. Is that preferred. I’ll have very few followers since it’s just a hobby travel site. Thanks.

i believe that widget is a feature of wordpress.com – not available on wordpress.org.
Yes one of the mail signup forms such as mailchimp is a good replacement.
