Menus--How to Add additional tabs

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to add more than three items in the primary and secondary menus. I put in about 6 or 7 items and it looks like there is room, but only 3 items (or page titles) show up in the menu. Please advise on how to address this issue?
I like the theme otherwise, still learning about everything, but very nice work.
This is actually core WordPress functionality.
You should be able to add a lot more items than that.
