I have a testimonials page with the about page as its parent.
I also want this page to be visited from the commissions menu item, so I created a custom link in that menu and that’s great.
However I end up with both about and commissions highlighted in the menu when really just the about item should be highlighted as that is the actual location of the page.
Do you have a tweak for this? http://www.thevalentinegallery.co.uk/about/testimonials/
I didn’t get any joy from this thread: http://generatepress.com/forums/topic/odd-menu-shows-active-on-categories/
Hi like the website and sorry I can’t answer your question however I like the way your navigation bar moves as you scroll down the page..how did you do this?
Unfortunately this is intended WordPress behavior – it lets the visitor know what the parent menu item is. Why not only include one link to the testimonials in your navigation bar?
I believe WordPress will always highlight the parent menu item, so I’m not sure there’s a way around it.
I would usually tell you to create a custom link (Links module) in the Menus area instead of using the Pages module, but simply placing a menu item as a child to another item will create the relationship and highlight the parent I believe.
