[Support request] Matching wp show post grid with generatepress

So i had to figure out a way to show posts from a specific category on the front page – the only idea i came up with was wp show post plugin. Unfortunately the styling doesnt at all match the category archive post on other pages. i solved it by using wp show post on all pages, effectively rendering most of the options of the blog customizer useless and running into a bunch of other problems.

Is there a better way to do this?

That seems to do the job. While i have you here, is there a way to change the post date to only display year?

You should be able to adjust within the WordPress setting:
