load fast + Image gallery for photography website

Hi
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on how to load images for a photography site while maintaining decent quality and keeping load time at a good rate.
Bought Modula plugin and tried their optimization tips but can't seem to get the page to load quick.
I tried re-sizing, the quality was so bad.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely tough to keep the site lightweight with high-quality images.
I would recommend compressing the images before uploading:

Other than that, make sure your PHP version is up to date and the quality of your host/server is good.
