Latest post featured image in blog hero section ?

Hello GP team,

I am building a blog page for a customer, with a hero header using Elements.

My customer would like the featured image from the latest post to be dynamically used as hero background image. It would look like this : https://test.venisebotticelli.com/blog/

I understand I will have to write some code for that, could you advise the most relevant solution to do it ? (change template, use theme filter ?
