Michael
Last support request for a while- promise! 🙂
This one is critical and might be an error in the theme or WP core. It might be related to the issue I mentioned earlier about the CSS styling not working the same in the mobile and desktop.
My padding disappeared in my blog post archive. The container spacing is fine, but the padding settings have no effect on the layout inside the containers.
Stripped out all my CSS, deactivated my layout elements. I even deleted the blog page and recreated a new one. I have the blog post images set to left align too, but as you can see, they’re centered. I deactivated all plugins, and still had the problem.
here’s a screenshot of the problem <—
Please help
Thanks for your awesome support- you guys have been very patient with all my questions!

Hi Michael,
In Appearance > Customize > Layout > Container, can you try adding left and right paddings there?

Hi Fernando
As you can see, I have tried everything.

In Appearance > Elements > “blog layout”, you set the Layout to Full width – no padding. Try setting it to default.

Fernando,
if you have time, please read the details of the support post
“Stripped out all my CSS, deactivated my layout elements. I even deleted the blog page and recreated a new one. I have the blog post images set to left align too, but as you can see, they’re centered. I deactivated all plugins, and still had the problem.”
I also did what you said, and the problem persists. This is not a normal issue- I’ve tried everything in the dashboard.

Can you keep the Layout Element disabled, and the left and right paddings added temporarily? We’ll check what’s causing the issue with those settings.

Hi there-
That worked. The padding is showing up now in the individual archive cards.
However, what display rule should I use for a full-width page layout without affecting the individual containers? (i don’t want the grid and sidebar contained)
There’s blog, post archives, all archives, etc…
Thanks!

In Appearance > Customize > Layout > Container, you can set the Container Width to a higher value like
2000px
. This however will take effect site-wide. Do you want other pages in your site to have a smaller container width, or not full-width?October 3, 2022 at 1:43 am #2361202Michael
Yeah that’s the issue. I want everything else contained.
Maybe some CSS targeted to specific page(s)?

How about creating a Layout Element to have everything else contained? So, set it to Contained, and then set a smaller container width. If we also need to add padding, we can add custom CSS.
Let us know.
