Is there a way to display hyperlinks in post excerpts?

Looks like the default behavior is to not output hyperlinks in excerpts. Is there a way to override that? I'd like for hyperlinks to work in excerpts in case the reader wants to click on them without having to "read more."

WP strips out all the HTML from the excerpt by default, if you want to get around, a plugin like Advanced Excerpt would be needed :)
Thanks, Ying. Not sure the rationale for stripping out HTML by default, but the Advanced Excerpt plugin worked for my needs. Appreciate your help!
