Installed fonts

There are only a few non-google fonts that are available. I want to use Segoe across all my GP sites. I don't know how to upload, 'serve' or do other technical things with fonts. Can you please add it or tell me simply how to do it? thanks, Monique
Hi Monique,
You can add your own font as local fonts:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-local-fonts/
The article is using google fonts as example, but the steps should be the same.
But if I do that, I'm just slowing down the page, aren't I? Why are there only a few installed fonts?
Hi Monique,
On the contrary, hosting fonts locally actually contribute to a faster loading website.
See this for reference: https://www.greengeeks.com/tutorials/host-google-fonts-locally-wordpress/#:~:text=Why%20Should%20You%20Host%20Google%20Fonts%20Locally%3F
There are actually no installed fonts. System fonts are fonts locally installed in every device. Google fonts on the other hand are hosted by Google. The reason for this is to prevent bulking up websites unnecessarily.
Hope this clarifies! :)
