Install IcoMoon localy in GP

I started this topic because I got the recommendation to install IcoMoon. I uploaded the files to my server, but I have problems with the integration in the GP theme.

The SVG files are reachable. See: https://baubeaver.de/wp-content/themes/generatepress_child/icons/SVG/facebook2.svg
For example if I want to add this to a menu I get problems.
I use the recommende code: <svg class="icon icon-facebook2"><use xlink:href="#icon-facebook2"></use></svg>

But that doesn't work. Where do I make the mistake?

Where did you get the recommended code from?
Can you test if that method works in a WordPress default twenty series themes?
