Importing "Tasty" from site library- get 500 Internal Server Error

Trying to import the tasty library. keep getting 500 Internal Server Error. is that an issue with GP right now or is it my hosting account?
Tried deleting everything after the first error message and tried to import again but same message

My site is on shared hosting with Hostgator and they couldn't change the server settings. Could only change if I had a dedicated server.
However, I actually had a good customer service rep who suggested deactivating all plugins except GP and then try it.
So I did and it worked! Successful import! Reactivated all plugins and good to go,
