I set up the settings in GeneratePress the way I want them on a test site.

Now I want to test on a live site. The live site is roughly the same as the test site – a WooCommerce site with similar, but not the same content as the test site.

I seem to have hit a wall.

I can’t export/import unless GeneratePress is the active theme and I cannot work my way through the settings because I can’t configure the Premium module or use it at all unless GeneratePress is the active theme.

What is the right way to handle this?

    Hi there,

    Not sure if I understand.

The theme needs to be activated in order to use the premium plugin.

Are you having trouble activating the theme or am I missing something?

    Let me know πŸ™‚

    Thanks,
I haven’t tried to activate the GeneratePress theme. I don’t expect there would be any problem activating it.

What I meant with my question was that ideally I would like to be able to try all the options in Live Preview and only activate the theme when I am happy with it.

Ideally I would rather not activate the theme before I am sure, but that doesn’t seem to be an option.

Yeah live preview is a bit limited.

Best to start a test site for things like this then you can just duplicate it to the live site after if you decide to use GP πŸ™‚

Yes, that is what I have done (set it up on a test site).

    Thanks for the clarification.
