Image size for google to show image in serps

Hi guys,

I’ve read a bunch of blogs all with different info. So hopefully you guys can put the record straight.

I would like my featured image to show in google mobile search results.

I’ve been informed that there’s a minimum size required for good to use that image.

Do you know what size, dimensions, the image should be?

Hi there,

for images to display i the featured search results, all the info i have ever read points to a 1200px image width. They generally like them to have a 'standardised' aspect ratio. So lots of SEO guys say 1200x800.

But i am no expert in that matter - you may want to check some SEO forums.

Thanks David. Yes I read the same. It seems that tue aspect ratio is the main thing

Yeah - they are rather particular about the aspect ratio... i would like to think they don't force 1200px as a minimum size :)
