I am very confused about the blog post. I am trying to set up my new website.
As you can see, the image appears in the blog post here: http://78s.b5b.myftpupload.com/voice4israel-standwithus-at-the-durham-farmers-market/
But here the image disappears and the formatting of the text also disappears.
Can you please help me so that images appear on each blog post at all times?
Thanks.GeneratePress 2.1.3July 29, 2018 at 8:12 pm #635653LeoStaffCustomer Support
In order for the featured image to show up, it needs to be uploaded here:
Looks like the single post is created with Elementor and the top image is just a standard static image which is why it isn’t showing up on the main posts page.
You shouldn’t need to use Elementor to create simple layout like that. It should look exactly the same if you use GP.
Let me know if this helps.July 30, 2018 at 8:59 am #636173Peter
Thank you. I tried troubleshooting but am still having the same problem. I deleted the problem post and created a new blog post called “Practice” without using Elementor. The same problem occurs.
Here, the picture appears: http://78s.b5b.myftpupload.com/practice/
Here, the picture does not appear: http://78s.b5b.myftpupload.com/blog/
Is there some box that needs to be checked or unchecked somewhere?
I created and manage the StutterTalk.com WordPress site and can’t recall this ever occurring. Any help you can offer is much appreciated.July 30, 2018 at 9:14 am #636200LeoStaffCustomer Support
I still don’t see a featured image being added in the newly created post:

Thank you Leo, that worked.
It is odd, in six years and almost 700 posts on another WordPress site, all I have ever done is Add Media. This is different and I don’t quite get it. I would like to be able to see the image within the post when I have text on either side of the image. Is there a way to see the featured image as I edit and not just in the sidebar?
Thanks.July 30, 2018 at 9:23 am #636215Peter
I just realized, when I set it as a featured image, the caption does not appear. So I guess I am asking two things:
1. Is there a way to see the image in the blog post editor and not just on the sidebar?
2. Is there a way to see the caption of the featured image?
Again, as StutterTalk.com I simply add media (image) and I can see it in the editor and put text on either side of the image and see that in the editor as well.July 30, 2018 at 2:49 pm #636475LeoStaffCustomer Support
Featured image is a standard WordPress feature, not GP:
It’s possible that you are using the more tag before which adds HTML to the main posts page:
Unfortunately featured image won’t show up in the editor.
You can try this snippet to add featured image caption:

Thank you Leo. Maybe I am not explaining this well.
1. If I use Add Media to add an image to the blog post, then the image does not appear here: http://78s.b5b.myftpupload.com/
2. So then, if I add the image I want also as a featured image, then it appears twice in the blog post.
Isn’t there a simple workaround for this? Is there some simple CSS code that could take care of this?
Thanks for your consideration.July 30, 2018 at 8:50 pm #636603LeoStaffCustomer Support
Two options here:
– Add featured images as I suggested above + keep your original static images in editor. The duplicated issue can be solved be unchecking Display featured images with Single toggled on:
– Add featured images as I suggested above + the code here to add caption:
Then you can remove the static images in the editor so there isn’t any duplicated issues.
Let me know if this is clear 🙂July 31, 2018 at 4:26 pm #637344Peter
