Image Gallery Groups

Hello. Not sure my subject really explains what I'm looking for, so please let me explain. I want an image gallery that displays a large image with about 3-4 thumbnails under it with the last thumbnail showing as a darkened image with the amount of how many more images over it. Meaning a darkened image with something like +3, or +5, or however many more images would be in the gallery when you click on one to enlarge the images in a lightbox. I guess kind of like on a site that sell products and only has a handful of thumbnails to show that there are more to view if you click on one of them. (Edit insert) Or like an album of images that only show 3-4 thumbnails, but also shows that there are more to see when you click on one and open the lightbox. If that makes sense, does anyone have a good recommendation for a plugin that does this? If it doesn't make sense, I'll try to find what I'm looking for and link it.
I ask here because I really would like something that works well with GP, and you guys always have great suggestions. Thanks in advance for any help.

Unfortunately I can't think of anything that matches your requirements on the top of my head.
I would recommend checking out a few image gallery plugins like Envira Gallery or something else to see if they the option you are looking for.
Or maybe a slider plugin as well?
All plugins that are well coded and built to work with WordPress themes will work well with GP.

Thanks Leo. I'm researching plugins now and not finding anything that looks like what I need. I might need to trick it into thinking there are more by just placing thumbnail images and creating the last one to look like there are more. Or maybe having the last image say "View Gallery", or something like that.

I think I figured out a simple way to get it sort of work with the free version of Smart Slider 3. Doesn't give the option for the last thumbnail to show that there are more pictures, and they don't open in a lightbox, but, for me, I think this will work. Not many slider options out there with a filmstrip or thumbnails that are free. Hope this helps anyone that may be thinking about doing the same thing.
