Image Background in nav, footer, off canvas menu?

Is there a way to add an image as the background for footer, off-canvas menu, or navbar? And if so, can I add a (can't remember the right term) color layer with 50% opacity over it too?

Yes, if you activate the backgrounds module of GP Premium, you'll be able to add background images to these elements.

But the overlay option is not available in the customizer.
Once you've set the background images and link us to your site, we can help with a CSS solution.
