I used to have Google Maps embedded onto different category pages (see the one attached for example) with the iframe code like this <iframe src=”https://www.google.com/maps/xxxxxxxx width=”xxx” height=”xxx”></iframe>.
I’ve noticed recently that the code was removed automatically and now when I try to add again the code is not possible to save it on the category page, while I don’t have any issue on blog posts or other pages.
Through the WordPress text editor https://imgur.com/a/WLeITdy adding the code <iframe src=”https://www.google.com/maps/xxxxxxxx width=”xxx” height=”xxx”></iframe> to show the map.
It seems adding an iframe to the Text editor is stripped due to some security changes they made. But you can paste the iframe into the Visual editor and that works.
Hi David, thank you for pointing me in the right direction, however if I try to paste the iframe into the visual editor, this is the result: https://imgur.com/a/STWNB3v
I am not sure what the solution is – as the Category Description is a core function of WP that by default doesn’t accept HTML. So whether it be Yoast or another plugin that is allowing you to add the HTML, it looks like the plugin or WP is sanitising the HTML. GP has no control or influence over that behaviour.
If Yoast is providing the HTML editing capabilities – have you checked with their support ?
