IFRAME ALIGNMENT

Hi Tom and/or Leo

I have inserted an iframe code supplied to me as an affiliate. The visual is not displaying correctly in that it is starting with wording that should not be there (says customhtml;?> easy to remove by deletion in TEXT) but also has advertisements and the sliding banner hanging out of the right side.

I have contacted the affiliate company and this is their reply -

Hi Michael, Thank you for your message. 1 - I can see the XXXEmbed coupons code on XXXXXXSaveUK.Com but it seems like that it has been embeded into already existing html tags. Please use clean header file if you wish to or simple add the index.php file in an empty folder and check it there such as XXXXXXSaveUK.Com/coupons/

Question - How do I get rid of the existing html tags which appear to be built into the page to have a clean header file?

Question - Is there any other simple way of doing this? I am not sure how to add to empty index.php folder.

Kindest regards

Michael

Hi there,

I'm not sure I understand. You're displaying an iframe instead of regular content, and you want to remove the outer HTML that holds the content?

Hi Tom

Thank you for your reply. Nor Me!!!!

I am going by what the reply that was sent to me by the affiliate company.

I have checked all viewing options Desktop/Tablet/Mobile. The main issue is with the Desktop version with Tablet less so. However neither as bad as it was. It appears much worse on my own computer so there may be an issue with my settings. I am not sure. However I have tried the code on a different website which also has the GP Theme and exactly the same thing is happening.

I have sent a copy of the code to the GP Support email for you to view if you wish.

It is almost like it is not central on the page on my computer and I cannot figure out what it is. I have never had this issue before.
I take it that you can see what I mean from viewing the website front page.

Maybe my question should be how do I use a clean header file?

I basically want to stop the sides of some of the advert coupons hanging out to the right.

I am trying to identify whether it is me, the download sent to me by the affiliate company or something to do with the theme.

Kindest regards

Michael

How exactly are you adding that code they gave you?

Hi Tom
Exactly as they gave it to me Tom. I think it was Notepad.

Where are you putting it though? Inside a hook? A template file?

Hello Tom

I put it in a normal page template file.

However following your question/suggestion I put it in a GP Hook which I had not thought about and it appears to have worked. It is showing as central on desktop, tablet and mobile.

As it did not work with the text - Discount Coupons and image - at start of page (I was using Sections) I have placed this into the Hook as well.

Unless you have any other better suggestions as to how I should do this may I say very many thanks. It is much appreciated.

Kindest regards
Michael

Further To My Last
Whilst the front page appears OK in Hooks I now find that the discount coupons are appearing across all pages Contact, Privacy etc. I have therefore reverted back to how it was and still have the original issue.

Can you share what your template file looked like? You can paste it into a pastebin and share the URL here: https://pastebin.com/

It seems you set it to be private, so I can't view it. Can you make it public?

That's all of the code inside your template file?

The code itself looks pretty sketchy - I assume it's the only option they provide?

Hello Tom
All resolved. The alignment issue appeared to rectify itself when the container width was changed.
The PHP iframe display issue has taken hours and days with Bluehost. The code was the only one I could get from the affiliate company. Apparently it was the compatibility with Wordpress.
Eventually I have done things another way and have been able to use the new GP Theme Hooks. It is not perfect but is not a GP issue and to do with the PHP Code.
Once again. Very many thanks.
Kindest regards
Michael

Glad you got it working :)
