If I dont upgrade to wordpress 5.0, can I still upgrade the theme now?

The new editor from wordpress 5.0 is awful, I dont wana upgrade it, but can I still upgrade the theme? Will it cause any issue?

yes you can still update the theme. If you don't want to use the new block editor then you can install this plugin:
https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/
Then upgrade to 5.0.
