Hi there,
I was wondering if you might be able to help me recreate the social icons in the sidebar nav? All the options didn’t import due to a 400 server error.
Thanks!September 27, 2019 at 3:17 pm #1020910LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
First you need this plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/menu-icons/Then create a menu with the icons needed:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-wordpress-menu-builder/Then add the menu in the header widget area with a Navigation Menu widget:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-widget/Let me know if this helps ๐

November 13, 2019 at 6:10 pm #1062529RobertHi there,
I got the menu icons to work but they seem to disappear when any of my portfolio posts are accessed. If you first go here:
https://wyald.com/productions/
And click on any of the items you’ll see the sidebar icons disappear:https://wyald.com/poetry-nap/

etcNovember 13, 2019 at 7:32 pm #1062573LeoStaffCustomer SupportLooks like you are using some sort of caching plugins or server cache?
Can you clear and disable them first?
November 14, 2019 at 3:22 pm #1063437RobertHi there,
None of these worked I’m afraid.
Tried:
– purging the cache, refreshing
– Tried disabling the caching plugin and refreshing
– emptied browser cache and refreshedOn another note, I just added the icon menu to my off-canvas menu for mobile and the icons show up but they are stacked vertically. How do I get them to float horizontally like in the desktop version of the sidebar menu? https://imgur.com/8JxuEPR
November 14, 2019 at 3:30 pm #1063442RobertAlso here’s something (I don’t know if it’s relevant) on the Menu Icons by Themeisle info:
โThe icons are not showing!
Make sure that your active theme is using the default walker for displaying the nav menu. If itโs using its own custom walker, make sure that the menu item titles are filterable (please consult your theme author about this).โNovember 14, 2019 at 3:49 pm #1063444RobertAnother interesting piece of information is that when I try to edit the menu under Appearance>Menus and I pick Social – Sider, and I click on the icon to edit the icon (was going to try a different source to see if that fixed it) I get a blank screen: https://ibb.co/g4kDXQP
November 14, 2019 at 3:55 pm #1063446LeoStaffCustomer SupportCan you disable all plugins except GP Premium and Menu Icons to eliminate any conflicts?
I check the Welcome, About, All Productions and Let’s Connect pages and the icons are working in all of them so I’m thinking something is blocking it on single posts.
Also what happens if you create a single post without Elementor and only use GP?
November 14, 2019 at 4:02 pm #1063449RobertIt’s something to do with the Elementor plugin. When slowly reactivating the plugins on the Elementor plugin activation the icons disappear from the side menu and there’s only square boxes.
November 14, 2019 at 4:04 pm #1063450RobertMaybe I have to add the Font Awesome icon set to Elementor under Elementor’s Custom Icons? I’m going to try this.
November 14, 2019 at 4:05 pm #1063451RobertActually Elementor already has Font Awesome 5 as a part of it I believe: https://elementor.com/blog/introducing-icon-library/
November 14, 2019 at 4:13 pm #1063456RobertI fixed the display of the icons! It’s under Elementor > Settings > Advanced > Load Font Awesome 4 Support choose Yes.
Hooray!
And now can you help me with the layout of the icons in the mobile menu view? They are stacked vertically vs laid out nicely horizontally. I could also bump them up in size a bit ideally.
November 14, 2019 at 4:18 pm #1063457LeoStaffCustomer SupportGlad you are able to figure out.
Can you open a new topic for the separate question?
It makes it much easier for us to track the issue.
Thanks ๐
