How to use static Homepage with link to recent posts.

Hello,
What is the best way to do this?
I have a static homepage, but want to have a "recent posts" page that displays all recent posts. So all the homepage content would stay the same, but I would have a link to the "recent posts" page.
I believe creating a seperate page called "Recent Posts", then using the WP Show Posts plugin is the way to do this?

yes that is a good method if you want to limit the number of posts you want to be displayed. E.g 10 latest posts.
