How to stop entire posts showing up in category pages?

It's been a while since I used Wordpress, and I'm just getting to grips with GeneratePress.
When I open a category page, rather than show a list of posts with perhaps featured image + excerpt or something similar, it shows the entire posts. How can I change this functionality? How do I set the way the posts are shown in category/archive pages?
