[Support request] How to place code immediately before closing body tag

Please tell me how to place javascript code immediately before the closing body tag. I’ve looked around the support forum and have found a few posts with contradictory instructions about using different GP Hooks. And the instructions for activating GP Hooks don’t seem to apply the current GP dashboard under Appearance in the WP dashboard. I don’t see any GP Hooks to activate under Appearance > GeneratePress (which was one of the instructions in one of the replies to another post in the forum).

By the way, I don’t know whether I’m using version 2.1.4 or 1.7.2 because in two places it indicatesx 2.1.4 and in another place it indicates 1.7.2.
