How to keep category description from loading on every page?

Hello,

I have a category description which I need to only have on the first page of the category. I have 10 posts showing up per page, but when I click to view the next page of posts, the full description comes up again at top. Is there a way to "not" have the description load each time?

In other words, have it not show o n the URL I post below which includes page 8 - Just the first page

Thanks again. Tried the first css code and it seems to be working fine.

Just one more quick question: Where do I select how many post snippets to display on a category page? Right now, there are 8, but I want to increase that.
