I tried almost everything and still, I can’t hide the featured image from the header.

Hi there,
the Volume site uses a Header Element:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/
To remove it go to Dashboard > Appearance > Elements look for the Single Post Header and either delete it or Quick Edit and save as draft.
