[Support request] How to get started

Hi everyone, I am trying to update my website which is running a really outdated theme. I want to design the new theme with GeneratePress Premium (ideally using the Target theme from the Site Library). How can I get this going on WordPress without impacting the live site/old theme until we’re ready to go live?

In this case, it’s better to start a staging site until the design is finished.

Hi Ying – if I do that, how would I then transfer it to the new site? I’m assuming you mean a separate wordpress instance?

Hi there,

first check with your hosting company to see if they provide a Staging site service.
They way Staging sites work is they copy your site to a different domain, and when you finished making changes they PUSH the changes to the live site.
