How to get rid of links in comments date
3 replies · Started by Pawel on October 5, 2021
Hello team,
on our site https://www.smartpolak.co.uk/ we have a fairly popular blog and some articles get a lot of comments.
When somebody posts a comment, there is a link created with the comment date and time. When you click the link, it adds to the article url something like #comment-26441 .
I think this is irrelevant and perhaps impacts SEO in a negative way.
Is there an easy way to get rid of this link and display just the date/time?
Thanks!
Hi there,
in the current version of GP you would need to replace the comments.php and rewrite the template. See Toms reply here:
In GP 3.1 which should be going live in the next week or two we added a filter that will allow you to change the comments output using a filter.
Thank you, David.
I think I will wait for GP 3.1 and use the filter.
Sounds like a good idea :)
Let us know if you need help when 3.1 is released.
