How to get an image thumbnail in the search results?

So for generatepress theme when I search for an image in the searchbox and see the results, there aren't any image thumbnails for images that I search. It just shows the post or page that the image is located on. How can I get the search box to only show me images in my search result. So say i search for Lion, i should only get thumbnail pictures of lions. Can I use a snippet or some code? Or can this be a feature request. And say if i tagged the lions image with safari or africa, its should show the lion.

Hi there,
I'm not sure how this would work. I suppose you could change it so the search bar only searches your attachments, but you'd likely need a custom page template to show the images only.
This would also mean your search bar wouldn't search anything else.
Let me know if that would work for you and I'll take a crack at the code :)
