    Hello.
Whenever I upload images to WordPress using the Media gallery, I redirect them to MEDIA itself.
This has created a default image link like this –

    https://www.windowstechit.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/personal-security-remote-working.png.

Is there a way in GP, to redirect them to NONE or to posts itself.

    1. I want this redirection for both old images and new images.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there,

this article explains how to remove permalinks from image attachments:

    https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/automatically-remove-default-image-links-wordpress/

For existing images you should be able to either Regenerate Permalinks ( Go to Settings > Permalinks and click Update) to fix existing ones. If not the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin should do that.

Redirecting them to an specific post would require the image to have a specific link attached to it… not sure how that can be done ‘automatically’

The above tutorial only helps in setting Image Links to NONE for adding new images.
But for older ones, it is not the solution. That is mentioned in the comments itself.

Since some blogs have more than 100 posts with 500 images, it is difficult to change each image link to NONE or whatever option we require.

There should be some automation to link all images to our requirement – NONE, MEDIA, ATTACHEMENT, CUSTOM URL etc.

Did you try David’s solution for existing images here?

For existing images you should be able to either Regenerate Permalinks ( Go to Settings > Permalinks and click Update) to fix existing ones. If not the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin should do that.

If that doesn’t work then you might need to check with WordPress support as this is not something GP can control.
