How do I set the number of posts displayed on my homepage?

My homepage has the latest posts which display by default 11 posts. How can I control the number of posts displayed on my blog homepage? I had control of this before installing this theme. Or maybe I'm just missing something. I've looked everywhere and can't find where to set this.

that is part of WordPress core, you go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading - -> Blog Pages shows at Most
