How do I create background hero header element

I'm trying to figure out how to add the page hero behind the article content like this page I'm trying to model after I tried to modify the z index but the hero just disappears.
Can you help with this?

I included my website in the private information, but i have the header page hero element enabled, but I want to have it fill behind the content area

If so, set the page hero - GB container's bottom padding to 200px,bottom margin to -200px.
