how can I use local translate

I need different translate with the default translation, but when I put the .po and .mo in the generatepress/languages folders, It dosn't work
Translations for the theme should go into wp-content/languages/theme.
Translations for GP Premium should go into wp-content/languages/plugins.
The files need to be named like this:
generatepress-xx_XX
gp-premium-xx_XX
