How can I display posts on front page

I want to display posts like this - www dot outsidepursuits dot com. After scrolling the slider, 2 lists of posts are there with different categories. How can I display something like this I tried your plugin wp show posts, but I am not able to achieve something like that. Image on the Left side - Title aligned at right but at the level of image , and not above that.
Hi there,
WP Show Posts is the way to go. If you set the image to above the title and then tell it to align left, you'll get that layout.
