Home Page with Featured (Sticky) posts and Latest Posts

I am starting a new site with GP. I want to have 3 Featured Posts at the top of the home page with 12 of the latest posts below that... something like this:
Featured Posts:
1, 2, 3
Latest Posts
1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6,
7, 8, 9,
10, 11, 12
I have the masonry element enabled. I wasn't sure if I should use shortcodes to accomplish the Featured Posts and Latest Posts sections, or if there was a better way to do so. This is a site I am trying to model: https://www.owntheyard.com

Hi Rich,
GP is developing our own query loop block, but it's not ready yet.
For now, you can use the WP query loop block to achieve this.
